I remember in my early 20’s I was obsessed with eating healthy…
I was in college, studying nutrition, studying fitness, and became completely immersed in how to have a “healthy body.”
But because of this, I wouldn’t go out with friends for a drink and I wouldn’t let my boyfriend cook for me if it didn’t fit my “plan”…
To my surprise, I have never felt worse than in that time.
I was bloated, my stomach hurt, I didn’t get the results from the gym I wanted, I was depressed, and my hormones were a disaster…
But I was doing EXACTLY what all my textbooks were telling me.
I was following the meal plans in my fitness magazines.
I could not understand why this was happening to me when I was trying so hard.
Maybe you are feeling that way right now?

I got to the low point where I knew that I had to choose a different direction.
That although it seemed like counting calories and eating chicken breasts and oatmeal worked for others it didn’t work for me.
That is when I started to explore “alternative” medicine and nutrition approaches.
That although I was not taught in conventional college to look for the deeper, root cause of health issues…it made sense.
That even though I was taught in school to treat everybody like it is on a factory line…
It made sense that instead, we needed to be looked at uniquely.
My old approach wasn’t working, not because I was lazy or broken…but because it wasn’t made for ME.
I implemented these new strategies that I learned…
By understanding what foods were causing inflammation in my body, how I needed to eat to stabilize my blood sugar, how to focus on boosting my nutrient levels…
And behold → I got out of the painful cycle and got the results I wanted.
I ate with my friends, I went to the grocery store without confusion, and the overwhelm was gone…
Because I was eating in a way that worked for me.
And in the many years since I discovered this approach, I have found that so many women I speak to that are trying to fix their health and fertility are still stuck in that old way of thinking.
Not to their fault, but because they are not being taught the right way to do things.
